Financing Your Education

Education is a big investment. While the training you’ll receive at Brighton Barber Institute will increase your chances of finding a rewarding career in a field that offers a lot of opportunity, you may feel financing your education can be a daunting task. There are several ways to finance your education, so find out what you can qualify for through various organizations.

Financial Aid/ Title IV

Federal Financial Aid is available for students of Brighton Barber Institute who qualify. We suggest you download this guide www.studentaid.ed.gov or www.finaid.org for more information.

  • FEDERAL GRANTS Are Monies Given to People to Help Pay for School. If You Are Awarded Money, You Do Not Have to Pay It Back. Based on Financial Need.
  • DIRECT LOANS Are Borrowed Monies Through the U.S. Department of Education That Must Be Repaid (With Interest).
  • DIRECT subsidized loans: Awarded to students who show financial need. Interest-free. Repayment begins six months after leaving school.
  • DIRECT Unsubsidized Loans: Available to All Students, regardless of financial need. Interest starts immediately.
  • DIRECT Plus Loans: Available for parents of dependent students Financial need not a considered. Loan the amount applied directly to the student’s account. If the loan is denied, the student may apply for the maximum amount available in a Direct Unsubsidized Loan.

Veteran’s Affairs Education Benefits / GI Bill®

Education Benefits/ GI Bill® is available for people who are eligible for veteran’s benefits. You can download an application form at

to have an application form mailed to you or for additional questions.

Vocational Rehab Services

Texas Workforce Solutions Vocational Rehabilitation Services supports people with disabilities in preparing for, obtaining, and advancing meaningful employment by providing a range of services based on an individual’s employment goals.

Brighton Barber Institute participates in the Texas Workforce Commission Vocational Rehabilitation Program.

Other Financing Options

Alternative loans can provide additional funding to assist students with their education. These are generally provided by banks and credit unions. We can provide you with information on Alternative Loan options.

Scholarships are provided by some companies, professional associations, and religious groups to individuals or their family members seeking an education. Searching the internet is a great way to see what might be available. Some local libraries even offer free internet usage.
