Vocational Rehab Services

Achieve Your Barbering Dreams with Texas Workforce Solutions

We're committed to helping everyone, including individuals with disabilities, launch a rewarding career. Eligible Texans can receive funding for our Hurst campus programs through Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Services.

What Are Vocational Rehab Services?

Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Services, offered by Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), are designed to help individuals with disabilities prepare for, obtain, or maintain employment that aligns with their skills and abilities.

At Brighton Barber Institute, we proudly partner with the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) to provide VR funding for our Class A Barber and Cosmetology programs. This means eligible students in the Dallas-Fort Worth area can use VR support to cover tuition, tools, and other training-related costs, making professional barber school accessible.

Our supportive team is here to guide you every step of the way, ensuring you can focus on building a rewarding career. Let’s start your journey to a fulfilling career in DFW!

How to Apply for Vocational Rehab Services

Applying for VR funding to attend barber school is a straightforward process. Follow these steps to get started at Brighton Barber Institute:

Contact Texas Workforce Solutions

Visit workforce.texas.gov/vr or call your local DFW office to schedule an orientation. Find your nearest office using the TWC’s office locator tool.

Meet with a VR Counselor

Discuss your disability, career goals, and interest in BBI’s barbering or cosmetology programs. Provide necessary documentation (e.g., medical records, proof of disability) to help verify eligibility.

Develop an Individualized Plan for Employment (IPE)

Work collaboratively with your VR counselor to create an IPE. This plan will outline how VR services will support your training at BBI, including our Class A Barber or Cosmetology program as your training goal.

Submit Approval to BBI

Once your IPE is approved by Texas Workforce Solutions, share the approval documentation with BBI’s financial aid team. We will then coordinate funding and confirm your enrollment details with TWC.
